《Little Women》by Louisa May alco is a novel set American Civil War. It follows the years when four women grew up from girls to little women and their unruly love experience and their respective pursuit of different ideals and destinations. After reading, the second daughter Jo impressed me deeply. In my view, she is nothing short of a heroine and also the role model of contemporary women. There are three things the most touched me. Firstly, she sold her hair to make money when her father was ill. We all know how important the hair is to girls at that time. From it I see that a girl who is loves her family very much. The pure affection between family is worth learning from. Secondly, she turned down good friend’s proposal of marriage. Not because She didn’t like him but because marriage can only make them quarrel and unhappy in her eyes. As she said” I just can’t go be a wife.” Yeah, it’s what modern women should learn most, the first role is always ourselves no matter what roles we play. Thirdly, An exposition of her, “Men vote not because they are good but because they are men. Women should vote not because they are angles and men are animals, but because we are human beings and citizens of the country.” It’s a classic example of the women’s rights in this novel. As we know, there are still many prejudices, requirements, discrimination and injustice against women nowadays. So as a woman, we should always defend our rights. Parents' words and deeds are the cornerstone of their children's growth. This is the other things I learn from this book. Jo was confused when other sisters had own things to do. She loved her home and couldn’t leave because her family need her. At his time, her mother said”Jo, you have so many extraordinary gifts. How can you except to lead ordinary life? Go...and embrace your liberty.” When Meg couldn’t help liking the praise from others, her mom said”If you feel your value lies in being merely decorative. I fear that someday you might find yourself, believing that's all that you really are. I only care what you think of yourself. Time erodes all such beauty, but what it can’t diminish is the wonderful workings of your mind. Your humor, your kindness and your moral courage are the things I cherish so in you.” This is the main part of my feeling after reading, but it’s only a tiny part of the book. You have to believe that the novel is more wonderful than what I share with. Then hope you have a meaningful reading trip!
