Over the recent years, interpretation has increasingly played an important role with the widespread of globalization. And the ability of interpreters is critical to the quality of interpretation. To improve interpreters’ ability in a scientific way, it is necessary to study on the process of interpreting. This paper reviewed the previous study of interpreting process and listening analysis, then focused on how English varieties influence listening analysis. Based on the previous study, the paper proposed three recommendations to facilitate the research in this field, including adding influences on more aspects, improving the study in the support of empirical research and offering visual aids. The analysis is supported by the frame of the theory of Regional Varieties of English. The study of this thesis helps interpreters accustomed to various English varieties so that they can preform better in interpretation.
