There was a chocolate factory, which had been closed for fifteen years. In the course of those years, it constantly emitted the favorable scent of chocolate, and the production was sold all over the world, nevertheless, what was in it and how did the factory work are both mysteries. One day, it welcomed its visitors--five lucky children. Nonetheless, one of them who was fat, was continuously eating high-calorie food. One girl was awfully arrogant, who was keen on chewing gum. Another girl, spoiled by her father in such an overwhelmingly blind and crazy way that he gave her all that she intended. And there was a boy, who was extremely intelligent but was addicted to the virtual world of television. All of them had more or less character flaws. The final lucky guy was the protagonist, Charlie Bucket, who was virtuous, plain and filled with love. He eventually inherited Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and supported Willy Wonka to make peace with his father and appreciate the meaning of family. In the entire movie, there are a marvelous number of moving and worth-considering moments. What impressed me most is that because of mechanical modernization, Charlie's father became unemployed. Currently, with the fast advancement of science and technology, an increasing number of jobs, such as waiters, housekeepers, less-skilled workers, to name but a few, are being displaced by mechanized equipment. Ideas on this phenomenon vary from person to person. Some view it as a promising sign of technical and social development. Some; nevertheless argue that modernization will take up quite a few positions and it is likely to contribute to social disruption. From my perspective, the advancement of technology is indispensable and it indeed has some redeeming features. In recent years, the facts have confirmed that technological upheaval has not led to massive joblessness, while it has renovated the social division of labor and made the industry more efficient. Mechanized equipment can free workers from dangerous, monotonous and low-value-added work. As a consequence, as the promotion of productivity, a growing number of new jobs will be created and individuals are able to have more time to immerse themselves in creative work, such as education, culture, art and so forth. Furthermore, how can we eventually be triumphant in this drastic competition? Both empirical knowledge and academic research suggest that making education available throughout a country can improve our advantages. By receiving education, children from impoverished families can shake off poverty, climb high in the social ladder and live better off. Education also allows citizens to secure employment and to earn regular incomes, thereby maintaining otherwise improving their standard of living. Additionally, we had better be creative, acquire knowledge as much as we can in various facets, develop all-round skills and broaden our horizons to suit the rapid development of our society. To draw a conclusion, mechanical modernization is inevitable and brings us numerous fruits. We needn't worry about it too much and what we should do is to develop ourselves to achieve the final success.
