I consider that the purpose of a university education is about character-building. A good character is imperative if we want to achieve great success. I totally agree with the opinion of Casals. In the short term, the advantage of good character maybe could not be noticed, but as we know, life is a long run. A Good character can let us benefit for a lifetime. Abraham Lincoln, famous American president. His family was poor when he was young. But he had a smart mother, his mother values the cultivation of his character. In the rest of life, a good character contribute a lot to his success. I think he could not be a successful president if he do not have a good character. All in all, build a good character is important than any other thing. So the prupose of a university education is character-building. LIke Casals have to said, If we want to be a soecialist in some filed, we should learn how to be a good man at first. Get a good character, and then, be a good man. Maybe only in this way can we get a chance to succeed.
