Dear David, Learning that you want to have a deep study in Chinese,i want to give you some suggestions to help you learn Chinese well. First of all,from my prespective,the most important factors of language learning is listening and speaking,as well as in Chinese and English.On some extent,those two factors also contribute to your reading and understanding,so watching some Chinese movices and listening Chinese radio might be very helpful.Besides,the most terrible part of language learning may be vocabulary,my advice is that write down new word you don't understanding in a notebook so that you can have opportunity to review them and deepen the impression.
