Goverment fundings is an important resource, which connected to citizen's living standard. However, whether goverment should give financial support to artists is a frequent topic of discussion. From my point of view, goverment should provide more money to solve the social problem rather than artists. First of all, there are many social issues can not be solved, such as the high crime rate, the welfare for elders,and environmantal problems. This means that goverments should spend more attention on the basic material needs and medical insurance when many citizens suffered from hunger and illness.So, it is improtant for goverment to give the priority of substantial needs rather than spiritual satisfaction. Moreover, with the increasing devolopment of economy and population explosion, our living condition is affected by the air pollution and chemical garbage. In this case, artist can not save the city by singing a song or act a dance.Citizens need something real to restore and change the city. If the earth have no place to live, human beings will lose the chance to enjoy the pleasure of art. However, it is not to say that the art is useless. Indeed, in some extent art have the magical function of inspiration, encouraging and appealing individuals to save the world. Even music has the astonishing positive affection, there are many songs and movies full of violence and sex. So , it is not worth to spend much money on artist. In sum, goverments should put the majority of money into charity and welfare in order to built a better place for citizens. Meanwhile, the positive impacts of art can not be ignored. By doing so goverment can ensure that individuals will maintain material and mental satisfation both.
