Automated assembly line has substantially boost the productivity and saved immense workload of workers’, Modern technology like electric wheelchairs, automatic elevators and doors has considerably increased the self-sufficiency of many disabled people, the emergency of washing machine, dish-washing machine and vacuum cleaner make housewife liberated from the heavy housework, the advance of medical technology such as organ transplant, pacemaker and insulin pump significantly improved the quality of people’s lives, and make it possible to cure cancer and AIDS in the future. Obviously, it is the technological progressions make our life easier and more enjoyable. However, every coin has two sides, when we enjoy the benefits brought by technological innovations, more and more troubles that produced by science and technology are plaguing the human. Genetically modified food is promising to solve global food problem, but the discussion of its risk or safety never draw a conclusion. The extensive use of automobiles provides notably convenience to people, but the exhaust and noise pollution poses a severe threat to human’s health. Nuclear power can satisfy the human’s ever-growing needs of energy, but the nuclear power is the most destructive instrument of violence and terror ever invented by humans. Although we are being threatened with these stubborn issues, the development of science and technology never should stop, since the problems generated by technology can only be solved by technological progressions. To sum up, what we should do is just to encourage the innovation of science and technology. Only by this, we can enjoy a better future.
