We all know that there are various dialects around the world. Therefore,it is a heated discussion that whether dialects are acceptable in public places or not. Some people hold the view that we should speak common language rather that speak different dialect.Because if we speak different dialects, the atmosphere will be noisy. In public, we should obey the rule "Be quite and don't bother others", and if we speak the same language, the society will be harmony. While others don't think so. They consider that we can speak dialects in public. Because they think dialects are the characteristics of different places, we should show out our cultural features and let others know what are they. For me, I think we should speak the same language rather than speak dialects in public. The reasons are listed as follows. On one hand, every state has its own standard language, it is viewed as the criterion of the social language. Therefore, we should accept it and use it to express our ideas in some formal places and important occasions. On the other hand, culture is the symbol of civilization, and language is a part of culture. Logically, language is the symbol of civilization. And nowadays we are promoting a society of civilization, so we should speak standard language to show our personality and quality. What is more, although dialects are results of culture, yet they are not viewed by collectivism. We all know that China is a collective country and we are much more pay attention to the unity. And the general language is just a result of unity, so we should make full use of it and establish a completed system. In conclusion, we should speak general language in public, however, we can speak dialects in our personal place, such as homes. In order to establish a completed language, we should make our every effort to speak general language in public; In order to drive modernization, we should speak general language in public; In order to make our society more harmony, we should speak general language in public.
