Lin Juemin (1887-1911), born in Min Hou (present Fuzhou), was one of the seventy-two martyrs of Huang Huagang during Guangzhou uprising of the Revolution of 1911. His farewell letter ‘To My Wife’ was so touching that it was handed down from generation to generation. Bingxin (1900-1999) was born in Chang Le (Fuzhou). Her original name was Xie Wanying and her pen name was Bing Xin. She was a renowned contemporary Chinese poet, writer, translation and author of children’s books.
