Hello! Friends. My name is Jordan. I'm 45 years old. I'm from China. I'm a civil servant. But I'm also a part time English teacher. So I'm a little bit busy every day. My full time job is easy but boring. I just do some small things like stapling files, making and answering calls, preparing simple speaking scripts for my boss and so on. It doesn't need a lot of brainwork. But it really takes so much time that I almost have no time to do other things. Fortunately I needn't to work overtime. I get off work at six o'clock and then go back home by subway. My pupils waits for me in the classroom at seven thirty. They are all happy to greet me because I can make them laugh at class. I teach them English the way They play games. I inspire their interests in English by encourage them to speak a lot after I tell them the basic gramma rules. For example, I wrote down three simple sentences on the balckboard one day. They were these: "I am Jordan. You are a student. He is funny." They are all the simple present and they are all the structure of SVCS. The first letter "S" means subject. The second letter "V" stands for Verb BE. The third and fourth letter together are the short form of subject complement. I told them the sentence pattern at first. After that I demanded every of them say new sentences like the ones I had given them. I began to instruct them the method how to change the statement sentence into general question. That was a piece of cake. Just put Verb be in front of the subject. I asked them to go to the stage and practise the changes for three sentences by speaking. They stammered when they tried to speak at the beginning. They were stuck from time to time. They often forgot the rising tone which was necessary for a Yes-no question. The indefinite article "a" was always dropped in their speeches. However, I think it dosen't matter. The important thing for them is to use English with their own words. The more they speak, The better they can enjoy the language. These lovely students were excited after they had finished their presentation. The progress they have made promotes me to work hard continuously. It makes me happy indeed when I feel I can help them with English. And I will go ahead because I like English. I believe I can have a brand new life if I'm with it.
